Sat, Oct 24, 1pm - 3pm EDT

Description

Plants love rainwater! Join us online to learn the basics of using simple landscape features, including planted dry streams, meadows, swales, earthworks, terraces, and rain gardens, to capture and infiltrate rainwater where it falls. These attractive, landscape-based approaches reduce runoff while giving plants access to more of the water your garden naturally receives, helping them thrive with less supplemental irrigation. Let your native plants be healthier and more beautiful with less effort!

Orchid Black is a garden designer and the owner of Native Sanctuary (nativesanctuary.wordpress.com), a firm offering native plant consulting, habitat creation and sustainable design services to the greater Los Angeles area. She writes and lectures about native plants, water-saving strategies, and sustainable landscaping. She has served on the Board of the California Native Plant Society, and recently served as the Chapter Council Chair.
