Landscapes in Clay
Event description
Landscapes in Clay
Landscapes in Clay is a hand building pottery workshop where we will explore sketching with clay. Bring along a picture or painting or choose from our small library, have a play and explore in three dimensions.
We recommend bringing a painting as the painter will have already figured out the composition for you, this will make things easier.
During the workshop we will explore composition, colour/tone choice, and surface treatment.
We will provide clay, carving tools, paintbrushes and underglazes, and we will have the work fired for you to be picked up from Necchi.
Meet Chris:
With a background in music and painting, Chris has spent the past seven years working closely with ceramics, a space he uses to merge his diverse creative interests.
Chris draws from the rich history of ceramics while also embracing and encouraging a spirit of spontaneity and play in pottery.
Chris teaches ceramics at Bisque Studios Northcote, and the School of Clay and Art (SoCA) Brunswick.
Details:
Landscapes in Clay will be a single 3-hour workshop.
All materials and tools will be provided.
The firing process can take a couple of weeks. We will reach out to participants when your pieces are ready to be collected :)
