'Postcard from the Purple Tree Lounge'
Capturing a snapshot in time through the music you might have heard in one of America's legendary Lounges in Florida, Virginia, NY, or Vegas from the 1950's/1960's era, 'Postcard from the Purple Tree Lounge' features the hugely talented singer, guitarist and songwriter Laneous Impeccably augmented by the wonderful talents of Oli Thorpe (pedal steel guitar) and Clayton Doley (organ/piano) and a Rhythm section comprising the incredible Alon Ilsar on drums and Jonathan Zwartz on double bass.
Expect a selection of Lounge style tunes drawn from the champagne bucket of Western Swing, Hawaiian Music,Jazz, Pop and a TV theme or two.
Championed by such taste makers as the BBC's Giles Peterson, and reputedly a significant influence on Hiatus Kaiyote, - contributing songs, mixtapes and cover art to Hiatus’ albums Tawk Tomahawk and Choose Your Weapon, - Laneous headed a sold out show at this year's Sydney Festival in a collaboration with the Starfish Club.
