Language as Healing
Description
Language as Healing
Language is more than the words we speak. It connects us to identity, culture, community and, for many, the generations who came before us. These connections can strengthen our sense of belonging and support our wellbeing.
As part of Ngā Ara o te Oranga | Pathways to Wellbeing, this free community event explores language as a pathway to connection and wellbeing.
Together, we will explore the relationship between language, identity, culture and wellbeing, celebrate traditional languages and create opportunities to share and learn from the linguistic and cultural diversity within our community.
You do not need to speak another language to participate. Everyone is welcome.
Friday 18 September | 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Doors open from 5:30 pm.
This is a free community event. We invite you to bring a plate of food to share as we come together through conversation and connection.
