Event description

Overview

Join us for an engaging session on Version 2 of the Language Matters Guidelines, developed in collaboration between NADA and NUAA. This webinar will explore the creation, purpose, and practical use of the guidelines within the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) sector. Featuring a dynamic panel of speakers, this session will highlight why language and words are important and matter. How the words we choose for ourselves and as workers can reduce stigma, show respect, and support meaningful engagement across the AOD landscape. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, reflect, and be part of the conversation shaping inclusive practice in our sector.

You'll hear from Dr. Robert Stirling, CEO of NADA, Kate Johnson, an LLE peer leader and Dr. Hestor Wilson, Chief Addiction Medicine Specialist with the Centre for Alcohol and Other Drugs, Ministry of Health.
