Event description

FLASH SALE IS ON NOW! Use code LUNAR50 and safe 50% off!

Did you know the first paper lanterns were made over 2,000 years ago? The lantern-making tradition has been passed down through generations in much of the Asian world.

Join us this Lunar New Year to make and create your unique sustainable lantern using household recycled materials and plant offcuts. Materials supplied and BYO recycled materials are also welcome — empty egg cartons, milk bottles, strawberry tubs and tree branches … we will turn trash into treasure and prosperity for the New Year!

There are 5x 45 minutes sessions available between 11am-4pm. Click 'Get Tickets' to pick your desired session. Email south.eveleigh@mirvac.com to be on the waitlist if your desired time slot is sold out.

Designer Danling Xiao of sustainable start-up, ReCo and 107 Projects will design the lantern layout and manage the on-site living lantern community installation.

Each one-hour workshop is a fun craft activity for the young and old, no experience required. Ensure those who haven't mastered scissors yet have a loved one to help if needed! You can take your beautiful creations home or display your lanterns in a dedicated area at South Eveleigh and return to collect them the following week.

Location: 107 Projects, Level 1, Community Building, 2 Davy Road, Eveleigh 2015.

All school ages are welcome!

Parents and guardians must attend the session and supervise their child/ren for the duration of the activities. This is not a drop-off event. Registrations for parents and guardians are free.

Lift access available for mobility needs. Pram Parking available.

The event may need to be rescheduled subject to changes out of our control.
