Description
`This night of Irish tunes and readings is a travelogue, a guide to Irish music and a celebration of fry-ups, lock-ins, singing and crack (or is it craic..?)
Based on the book 'Last Night's Fun' by the legendary Belfast poet, novelist and musician Ciaran Carson.
Flute makers, smokers and fiddlers; poteen, whiskey and chancers; reels, jigs and the wild fiddle music of Donegal. From how to behave when playing tunes to why one tune might have ten different names; why in Belfast an Orange tune can also be a Green one. All this and more, in the company of some of Australia's greatest players: Ciaran O'Grady; Aifric Boylan; Allan Evans; Mairtin Staunton; Gerry McKeague; Ruth Boylan and Kit Joyce. Adapted and hosted by Dominic Black.
A great night of words and music - bring your instruments and join us for a couple of tunes at the end of the night.
