NU Moves Physiotherapy, Forum Sports & Aquatic Centre, University of Newcastle (TBC)
Cost: $350 (heavily discounted for RIPN members)
We’re excited to welcome Associate Professor Angie Fearon (Physiotherapist, University of Canberra) to Newcastle for a full-day, hands-on workshop focused on best practice care for people with lateral hip pain.
Following the Friday night Multidisciplinary Insight Session (hosted by RIPN), this Saturday workshop is designed especially for RIPN members who want to go deeper into clinical assessment and rehabilitation strategies for gluteal tendinopathy and other causes of lateral hip pain.
In this workshop, Angie will:
✅ Guide you through targeted history-taking to help rule in or out differential diagnoses
✅ Demonstrate key physical examination tests and how to cluster them for improved diagnostic accuracy
✅ Teach the latest outcome measures to track progress
✅ Present a rehabilitation algorithm grounded in current evidence
✅ Help you navigate the sea of glute exercises—what works, for whom, and how to load progressively using tendon principles
Expect a highly practical, engaging day—you’ll be up, moving, and definitely feeling those glutes by the end. Say goodbye to clamshells, and hello to single-leg pelvic control.
🎥 If you’re unable to attend Friday night in person, a Zoom link will be provided. Participation in the Friday event (live or recorded) will be considered pre-learning for this workshop.
👉 Don’t miss this rare opportunity to learn from a national expert in the field and enhance your ability to deliver evidence-based, effective care for lateral hip pain.
