Laughter is the Best Medicine – A Daffodil Day Breakfast with Dr Jo Prendergast
Join us on Thursday 14 August 2025 at the Canterbury Cancer Centre for a morning of connection, inspiration, and laughter.
From 8am to 10am, enjoy breakfast with Posh Porridge and coffee with Embassy Coffee while hearing from Dr Jo Prendergast,
Dr Jo Prendergast is a psychiatrist, author, comedian, and breast cancer survivor. Diagnosed with grade 3, stage 2 breast cancer in 2021, Jo turned her treatment experience into a mission to help others. She created resources for managing chemotherapy side effects, wrote a comedy show, and shared her journey through social media and public speaking.
Jo’s career spans psychiatry in New Zealand and Australia, and her book When Life Sucks offers guidance on youth mental health through the lens of her professional and personal experiences. Her comedy career began in 2017, and she has since toured award-winning shows across NZ, Australia, and the UK, including Cancer and Cartwheels and The Cool Mum.
