We're launching our very special documentary, My Mother and I: The Untold Stories of Afghan Women. This short film celebrates Afghan women and their resilience, and preserves untold stories for future generations.
Afghan Women on the Move (AWOTM) is looking forward to sharing this first screening of our short film with you and hope that this premiere event will open doors to conversations about empowerment, resilience and the vital role of amplifying Afghan women’s voices.
The launch of this film is being hosted by Stephen Bali MP Member for Blacktown and Parliamentary Secretary for Planning and Public Spaces at NSW Parliament House.
We are grateful to the partnership and sponsorship of Mercy Works that made this project possible. Our partnership enabled AWOTM to run storytelling workshops, employ skilled facilitators and create culturally safe spaces where women can share their stories, heal, and connect.
Tickets are free of charge for this event, however we encourage you to consider making a small donation of $5 per ticket to Afghan Women on the Move to help us to continue to deliver impactful and important community engagement projects.

Parking and Access Details:
Closest Parking: Cook and Phillip Park (Cathedral St), The Domain (St Marys Rd), or Sydney Hospital (Hospital Rd).
Accessible Parking: Available to Mobility Parking Scheme permit holders, subject to availability, and must be booked in advance.
Drop-off: Coaches and vehicles can stop briefly to set down passengers on Macquarie Street.
Public Transport: The closest train stations are St James, Martin Place, or Circular Quay.
Access/Security: Entry is via the security gatehouse on Macquarie Street.
Facilities: Accessible toilets are on levels 6 and 7, and a baby change room is on level 7
