This event has passed Register

Event description

Join us for the launch of the 2020 Review (the Review) of the Disability Standards for Education 2005 (the Standards).

This schooling webinar, the first in our webinar series, will help to launch the 2020 Review of the Standards.

It is for anyone interested in the review of the Standards including students, former students, prospective students, parents, educators, advocates and members of the public.

The interactive webinar will involve:

  • an introduction by Department of Education, Skills and Employment about the Review
  • an introduction by Ben Gauntlett, Australia’s Disability Discrimination Commissioner
  • a presentation of key themes of the Review
  • the opportunity for you to answer questions live during the webinar to provide your input to the review process.

Background

The Standards help to make sure students with disability can participate in education and training. This supports people with disability to be able to participate fully in society and have more opportunities throughout their life.

The Standards are being reviewed in 2020 through a consultation process. The Review will ask whether the Standards are doing their job, and if not, how they could be improved.

More information about the Review is available on our Consultation Hub.
