Launches @ the Library: "Näku Dhäruk" by Clare Wright and "Enlightened Aboriginal Futures" by Barry Judd & Katherine Ellinghaus
Event description
Join us for the final Launches @ the Library event of the year to celebrate two remarkable new works of history from La Trobe authors: Enlightened Aboriginal Futures by Barry Judd (UM) and Katherine Elllinghaus (LTU) and Näku Dhäruk The Bark Petitions by Clare Wright.
Both of these books explore issues of settler-colonialism, missionary history, race and religion, cultural and political history, sovereignty, consultation and cross-cultural interaction. Kat, Barry and Clare will be in conversation with Professor Julie Andrews, Academic Director, Indigenous Research.
School Locker will be onsite with a selection of LTU author books as well as copies of both new titles for purchase. Sandhill Girl by Lorna Wilson, sister-publication to Enlightened Aboriginal Futures will also be available (for cash sales only).
Light refreshments will be provided.
Come meet the authors and chat with colleagues over a lunchtime cuppa.
This event is supported by the Office of the Vice Chancellor and School Locker.
