Lead Local: Hire Smarter, Lead Stronger
Event description
We have developed the Lead Local series of workshops because, here at Regional Development Australia Goldfields Esperance, we believe that building community capacity and developing the skills of our leaders is crucial to the social and economic development of our region.
For our first Lead Local workshop, we have teamed up with two regionally based consultants — Simone Pickering from The People & Culture Office and Kylie McLerie from Collective Culture Consultancy — to deliver a no-fluff, real-world workshop focused on the people side of our regional organisations.
We know how difficult it can be to run an organisation in the regions, whether you're a business, not-for-profit or a community group:
Are you are struggling to attract the right employees / volunteers, or to keep your best people?
Are you tired of recruiting just to fill a seat, only to deal with the fallout later?
If you want to build a better culture in your organisation, then this is the workshop for you!
Hire Smarter, Lead Stronger gives you the practical skills to recruit intentionally, lead with clarity, and build an environment people want to join and stay in.
In this half-day, interactive workshop, we’ll explore:
Why job ads, perks, and old-school hiring approaches are falling flat
How to connect recruitment to your culture, values, and retention goals
Defining your ideal candidate and creating employee/volunteer personas
Tools for writing job ads that attract the right people
Behavioural-based interviewing that uncovers the truth, not rehearsed answers
What employees really want - across generations
How culture, values and leadership drive better outcomes for your organisation
This isn’t Recruitment 101, it’s capacity building for leaders who want long-term results, not quick fixes.
No corporate waffle. No overused “team player” clichés.
Just clear, actionable steps tailored for the realities of running an organisation in regional WA.
As places are limited and a complimentary morning tea will be provided, RSVPs are essential
