Lead with Her: Get better at feedback (without making it weird)
Description
Lead with Her: Get better at feedback (without making it weird)
A Lead with Her session for emerging and new leaders
Most people avoid feedback. Even when they know they shouldn't.
This session will help you say what needs to be said (and handle what comes back) without making it weird.
You know the moments:
You should say something, but don't know how
You soften the message so much it loses impact
You receive feedback and aren't quite sure what to do with it
This 90-minute session is part of our Lead with Her series, built for women stepping into leadership for the first time (or figuring out how to lead well without a title yet). You'll leave with tools you can use in your very next conversation.
What makes this different
Most feedback training is theoretical. This is practical you'll:
Practise real scenarios
Get clarity on what to say
Leave with language you can actually use
You'll find this useful if you've ever thought:
"I should say something, but I don't know how to say it"
"That feedback didn't land"
"I'm not sure how to respond to that feedback"
"I don't want to make this awkward"
What you'll learn
How to give clear, specific feedback without over explaining
How to receive feedback without getting defensive or stuck
A simple, practical framework (including SBI) you can use immediately
How to handle awkward or difficult conversations
What to do when feedback doesn't land the way you expected
You'll have the opportunity to:
Work through real scenarios
Practise applying the frameworks
Ask questions in a supportive environment
Who it's for
This session is for emerging and new leaders, and anyone stepping into more responsibility for the first time, including:
Engineers, product managers, and tech professionals
Individual contributors and new leaders
Anyone who wants to get better at feedback without it feeling uncomfortable or unclear
You don't need a leadership title to belong here. If you're the person your team already comes to, or you're about to be, this is for you.

- Who are Her Tech Circle
We're a 100% volunteer-run organisation on a mission to reduce the attrition rate of women in the technology industry. Right now, 50% of women leave tech by age 35 - and we're not okay with that. Our solution? Community. Through our values of intentional bravery, empowering together, and trust unconditionally, we create meaningful events and supportive spaces where women build the confidence and connections they need to not just stay in tech, but to thrive and build powerful, enduring careers.
