Description

What is Leaders Assembly

Leaders Assembly puts you at a long table with a curated group of leaders at a similar level, for two hours, with an agenda we build live in the room. We take what people walk in carrying and work it through there and then, with collaborative discussion, group coaching and enough structure to get past the surface. You'll leave having had the focused attention of the whole table on a live challenge, and having had a hand in what other leaders take away.

Who's at this table

For this first Leaders Assembly, you will join up to eight leaders around a long table, one per organisation, so you can speak freely about what's happening in yours.

Coffee and pastries for the table are on me.

How the morning runs

There's no agenda until you're in the room. You arrive with whatever you're carrying that week or day. The morning gets built out of what everyone walks in with, and we work through it in real time.

We take our time at the start to connect deeply, building trust and rapport first. From there we get into the challenges, digging past the version you'd give in a meeting to whatever is sitting underneath it. We’ll work to get real clarity, and solve for the root cause, not the symptoms. I'll offer up a model, an insight or a piece of research against what comes up where appropriate, or ask well placed questions to keep the pace moving.

Near the end we come back together to see what shifted and what else you need. You'll leave having watched fellow leaders take apart something hard, and getting insights into how others solve or experience leadership.

Who this is for

You'll fit here if you're leading a team that's already functioning well and there's something you keep coming back to.

It might be a person you can't work out how to motivate, or a change you've been handed to carry, or the gap between what your team is capable of and what it's producing right now. You don't need to have solved it - or even fully articulated it. Bringing your challenge is the price of entry.

We'd ask that you give someone else's challenge the same attention you'd want for your own, and assume good intent from your fellow leaders in the room.

What's said here, stays here

The room runs under Chatham House Rule. You can take an idea away with you and use it however you like. What you can't take away is who said it, or where they work. No names, no organisations, no "a connection of mine at [company] is dealing with this".

That includes the room itself. The people in it don't get mentioned outside it, so nobody has to weigh up whether their industry is small enough for a story to find its way back.

I write about leadership, and themes from these sessions may show up in my newsletter or socials occasionally. Anything I use has the names, the organisations and the identifying details taken out.

This one isn't for you if:

  • You're hoping to find clients or build a pipeline. Nobody pitches at this table, and that includes me as your host.

  • You'd rather sit back and listen than put something of your own up for discussion.

  • You're looking for training with a curriculum and a workbook to take home.

  • You're after a one-off hit of ideas rather than a group you keep coming back to. Most of what happens here builds over a few sessions - including the relationships.

  • You're an external consultant, freelancer or coach. These sessions are for in-house leaders.

Wondering whether you're senior enough?

The question we'd ask is whether you're thinking about where your group needs to be in a year, while still being the person they bring today's problem to. Most people here are setting direction for a group and are close enough to watch how it lands.

Titles vary so much between organisations that they don't tell us much, so the registration process asks a few questions instead, and if there's a spread across those who register, we'll run more than one Assembly to ensure the group is curated and matched for the most productive conversations.

Coming along

The first Leaders Assembly runs on 24th November, 8:30am to 10:30am at Liminal, Melbourne CBD.

Up to 8 seats, one leader per organisation, $99+GST including coffee and pastries for the table.

This first one is the Founding Table. You're backing something that hasn't run yet, so you'll get first refusal on a seat when the 2027 season opens, and you'll hold this price for as long as you keep coming to Leaders Assembly.

How the registration process works

This is a curated table and I want to ensure that the right mix of people are in the room. The process:

  1. Register your interest by answering a few questions at the checkout.

  2. Once I have reviewed your registration, I (Lorissa!) will be in touch.

  3. Should you be a right fit for this Assembly, you will be provided the link to secure your seat at the table!

No payment is required, until your registration has been accepted.

If more people register than there are seats, or we have a spread of varying levels of leadership, I'll run another Assembly table.

Not sure whether it's your kind of room?

Email me (lg@lorissagarcia.com) and I'll tell you honestly.
