The Generative Edge: How AI Will Redefine Work
Matt’s presentation will introduce you to generative AI—what it is and how to actually use it in a business context. He will explore its transformative potential, uncover real-world applications, and discuss the "art of the possible" for businesses. While he aims to inspire excitement about AI’s capabilities, he will also highlight critical considerations around governance and data responsibility, ensuring you’re equipped to harness AI effectively and ethically in your business.
Matt leads the AI & Automation team at The Missing Link, bringing over 15 years of experience in technology consulting. He specialises in delivering practical, innovative AI and automation solutions that enhance business operations and deliver measurable outcomes.
Matt has successfully delivered AI and automation projects across construction, consulting, education, finance, government, healthcare, not-for-profit, property, telecommunications, and legal sectors. His key skills include AI strategy development, effective team training for AI adoption, implementing AI-powered automation, and managing the ethical and security considerations associated with AI. In his current role, Matt has trained over 4,000 professionals in AI adoption and created an online course to help organisations scale their AI initiatives. He believes AI represents more than technological innovation—it fundamentally changes how businesses operate, enabling organisations and individuals to remain competitive in an evolving workforce.
Previously, Matt co-founded a technology start-up and held senior leadership roles in Big Four consulting firms, honing his skills in stakeholder management, business development, and strategic project delivery.
Matt holds a Commerce degree complemented by postgraduate qualifications in programming, combining robust business knowledge with technical expertise. He has earned recognition for delivering innovative AI solutions, including the ARN Partner Innovation Award for SMB.
He regularly speaks at industry events, including CIO50, AI Pulse with Levyl, and Future Tech Legal conferences. He actively shares insights through workshops, online courses, and publications, notably his recent book, Powering HR with AI. Matt also guest lectures, contributing to the growth of future AI professionals.
Outside work, Matt enjoys home automation technologies, ocean-related activities, and volunteering as a lifeguard in his hometown of Kiama.
Come along and enjoy an evening of good food, good company and a great presentation.
