That's why we've partnered with In Business Madison, ActionCOACH, and the University of Wisconsin–Madison to create The Leadership Lab—a networking series designed to help professionals strengthen one of the most important skills they'll ever use: building meaningful relationships.

Think of it as a laboratory for connection—a place to learn, practice, and grow alongside fellow professionals who are equally invested in the future of the Madison community.

Featuring Kevin Conroy

We are excited to launch The Leadership Lab with Kevin Conroy, former Chairman and CEO of Exact Sciences.

Conroy served as CEO of Exact Sciences from 2009 to 2026 and Chairman from 2014, transforming the company into one of the world's leading cancer diagnostics companies. Under his leadership, Exact Sciences developed Cologuard®, the first medical device or diagnostic to receive simultaneous FDA approval and national Medicare coverage. Today, Cologuard has been used more than 23 million times to screen for colorectal cancer.

In 2019, Exact Sciences acquired Genomic Health, adding Oncotype DX®, which has helped more than two million breast cancer patients make more informed treatment decisions. The company continued to expand its portfolio with Oncodetect® for molecular residual disease testing, Cancerguard™ for blood-based multi-cancer early detection, and Riskguard™ for hereditary cancer risk assessment. Exact Sciences was acquired by Abbott in March 2026.

Prior to Exact Sciences, Conroy led Third Wave Technologies. He currently serves as a director of Abbott and CereVasc, Inc., and as Chairman of the Board of Align Technology. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Michigan State University and a J.D. from the University of Michigan.
