Workshop 4: Bullying, Harassment, Discrimination & Psychosocial Hazards - What you need to know as a manager

To ensure compliance with legislation and to set the scene for positive culture, it is imperative that leaders and managers understand the legislation and can ensure workplace practices support this. This workshop will look at the legislations affecting positive workplace practices and look at your workplace documentation and ability to proactively manage risk.

This workshop will cover:

• What is/isn’t bullying and harassment.
• How can bullying and harassment be reported?
• Psychosocial hazards
• Vicarious liability
• WHS responsibilities
• Discrimination, Sexual Discrimination (direct and indirect)
• Why report bullying, discrimination and harassment?
• Checking assumptions
• Acceptable workplace behaviours
• Grievance procedures

Learning Outcomes

By the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Have a clear understanding of bullying, discrimination, and harassment as well as appropriate workplace behaviours and documentation.
• Understand workplace documentation and communicate to the team.
• More positively manage their own behaviour and that of others.
