Event description

We’re delighted and excited to have Gervase connect again with our OD community! So don’t miss out, save the date!

We are delighted to begin ODA’s 25th anniversary year with Gervase Bushe, Professor of Leadership and Organization Development at the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. Gervase is an internationally renowned OD thought leader and award-winning author with books including Dialogic Organization Development and Clear Leadership. Many of you will remember Gervase from his February 2020 in-person ODA session on Dialogic OD.

Gervase will talk about his research and recent writing on generative leadership and the distinction between a high-engagement change strategy, and a generative change strategy.  Generative approaches to leading and change create conditions for stakeholders to assume more authority and innovate, managing organizational challenges through generativity instead of problem-solving.  Over the past 20 years studies show rapid transformational results are possible using generative change. After describing the generative change strategy and some stories from his consulting, Gervase will discuss the challenges leaders and OD consultants often face in using a generative approach.

Join us for this unique opportunity to strengthen insight into change as we together explore the generative approach, what it enables, its challenges and ways of navigating.
