Leading Transformational and Strategic Change in the AI Era: Connecting Research, Practice and Impact

Artificial intelligence and other technological, economic and societal shifts are influencing how organisations strategise, lead and manage change. Successful transformation requires organisations to rethink strategy, leadership, people, implementation and the connections between them.
In this context, how can research help organisations navigate, and lead, transformational and strategic change? What can we learn by bringing together perspectives across disciplines? And how can researchers and organisational leaders work together to translate knowledge into meaningful impact?
RMIT University’s Centre for Organisations and Social Change (COSC) and the School of Management invite academics, industry leaders and practitioners to a Research & Industry Engagement Forum exploring these questions.
Bringing together researchers and organisational leaders, the forum will feature thought-provoking presentations followed by an interactive panel conversation. Speakers will explore contemporary challenges and opportunities surrounding transformational and strategic change, how multidisciplinary research can generate new insights, and how stronger connections between research and practice can contribute to meaningful organisational and societal impact in an increasingly AI-enabled world.
Special book spotlight and Melbourne launch:
The forum will also feature a special presentation and Melbourne launch of The Palgrave Handbook of Strategy, Change and Transformational Project Leadership. The Handbook brings together multidisciplinary perspectives on strategy, change and transformational project leadership and provides a timely platform for considering how organisations can approach complex transformation.

Dr Angelina Zubac
Dr Angelina Zubac is a strategy scholar, consultant and educator with over 30 years’ experience across business, government, not-for-profit organisations and universities. She specialises in strategy implementation, organisational transformation and change, and has extensive board and academic governance experience. She is also lead editor and author of major books on transformation strategy and strategic change.
Associate Professor Huong Le
Associate Professor Huong Le is Head of College, College of Business, CQUniversity. Her research focuses on workforce diversity and inclusion, workforce development, employee wellbeing, career management, and AI and the workforce. She has led government- and industry-funded research and published in many leading journals.
Professor Zhou (Joe) Jiang
Professor Joe Jiang is Professor of Management and Co-Director of the Centre for Organisations and Social Change at RMIT University. His research focuses on human resource management, careers, employee wellbeing and organisational behaviour. A former Head of the Department of Business Administration, he holds several journal editorial roles and has been recognised among the world’s top 2% of scientists.
Mr. Jay Patel
Mr Jay Patel is Global Head of Learning, Capability & Organisational Development at ARB Corporation, where he leads capability and organisational development across a complex global business. With over 15 years’ experience across organisations including HPE, NAB, Australia Post, Orica and Saudi Aramco, Jay specialises in performance consulting, workforce capability, leadership development and AI-enabled organisational transformation.
Associate Professor Kevin Argus
Associate Professor Kevin Argus is a marketing and sustainability scholar at RMIT University and Co-Chair of the RMIT Circular Economy Hub. A former MBA Program Director, he has extensive experience in industry-engaged research, interdisciplinary collaboration and research leadership. His work focuses on circular economy, sustainability and innovation, with a strong emphasis on translating research into real-world impact.
Mr. Andrew Edmunds
Andrew Edmunds is Head of Business Development at Precision Brain Spine and Pain. An experienced business and people leader, he has expertise spanning strategic growth, commercial partnerships, business-government relations, operational improvement and healthcare operations. He has extensive experience in developing strategic initiatives and partnerships, alongside P&L accountability, board reporting and organisational leadership.
