Event description

For parents looking to mix up the school day, or for anyone interested in learning more about the importance of biodiversity. Content suitable for school-age children from years 3 to 10, but all ages welcome including adults.


Hosted by expert educators, you will discover the impacts of human activities on an ecosystem and solutions to increase biodiversity in your community, at school or home. 

During this interactive virtual learning session you will: 

  • identify living and nonliving things in an ecosystem 
  • explore what an animal needs in its environment to survive
  • learn about different relationships between organisms in an ecosystem, and 
  • create an action plan to conserve an ecosystem

What you'll receive

  • You will be sent a unique URL a week prior to the session 
  • A guide for parents, including instructions for optional activities to do before and after your webinar

What you need for the session

  • Tablet or mobile device - download the free Zoom app 
  • PC, laptop or smartboard - allow the Zoom extension file download request
  • Pen and paper 

Important notes: 

  • The session will open 10 minutes before the scheduled start
  • We use Zoom Video Conferencing to deliver virtual learning sessions
  • Q & A will be left open for parents to communicate with CERES educators during the webinar
