Learn the Ancient Art of Kin-Tsugi
Event description
Create Golden Repairs -Kin Tsugi
This workshop is over 2 consecutive days for an introduction to a Japanese ancient art, Kin-Tsugi.
550 years of wisdom takes us on a journey of appreciating imperfection and accepting the unknown while we learn to repair a broken pottery in a friendly calm atmosphere. Sayoko was trained in Japan and has been teaching the skills over the last 8 years.
To complete the repair in time, synthetic resin will be used as adhesive in place of traditional Urushi (tree sap) lacquer. The process will be customized according to the piece you work on.
