Wednesdays  

30 April - 18 June, 3.30 – 4.30pm

For Primary School Students in Grade 2 - Grade 6.

An artist led program, facilitated by Zoe Awen, focussing on developing skills and style! Students will incorporate techniques drawing from life to reinterpret what they see and use their unique creative flair. Each class will be different, incorporating new ways of observing and capturing what we see and feel in artistic form.

Weekly Drawing Schedule

1. Hatching - learn different techniques and materials to communicate different textures and ideas

2. Shadows and light - using real objects and a lamp, explore the effects of light

3. Grid drawing - using reference photos learn how to break up a drawing into smaller pieces to draw the whole

4. Drawing negative space - explore figure and field in a new way using real objects and a viewing box on paper

5. Draw your own hand holding an object - observational drawing techniques

6. Your world calendar - Create & begin to illustrate a wheel calendar to document your world, eg. Objects in your room, nature, your pets

7. Collage / drawing combo - cut out pictures to begin to tell a story and draw the rest in!

8. Illustrative journaling - learn the art of drawing your feelings or an experience


Parents are not required to stay.
