Do you own an overlocker but aren’t quite sure how to get the most out of it? We are thrilled to welcome the fantastic Kate from Sew Into Overlocking to Creative Community Space for a comprehensive full-day masterclass designed to help you truly understand your machine, troubleshoot common issues and use your overlocker with confidence.

Throughout the day you’ll work through a detailed workbook while sewing a variety of samples that teach you essential techniques and settings. By the end of the day you’ll wonder how you ever managed without it!

What you’ll cover:

✔ Three-thread overlocking
✔ Understanding thread tensions
✔ Rolled hems and their many applications
✔ Differential feed and when to use it
✔ Sewing circles, inside corners and outside corners
✔ Working with difficult fabrics
✔ Tips and techniques for achieving professional-looking results

A comprehensive 23-page workbook and all fabrics required for the day are included.

What to Bring:

☐ Four spools of good quality overlocking thread — four different colours are recommended to help understand stitch formation. Thread is available to purchase from The Fabric ReStore on the day if needed!

*We recommend having your overlocker serviced prior to the masterclass if it hasn’t been used recently, as a machine that isn’t functioning correctly it will limit what you can achieve on the day. We can organise the machine to be serviced with our trusted mechanic and ready for the class — get in touch if you’d like to arrange this before the event!
