Youth PoWR 2021 - Learning Together: Building bridges through understanding
Event description
As the first event of the year, we put The Sydney Statement to practice by building bridges through the exchange of knowledge and understanding. We are a growing and vibrant multicultural and multi-religious society. The Dialogue of knowledge is what will help ensure our self-preservation. In this event, we invite three young adults who are scholars in their respective faiths to share an aspect of their faith with us to further our understanding of each other.
Attendees will participate in breakout room sessions to discuss what they have learned and perhaps even share something from their own faith. This is an opportunity to engage with each other to find a common ground on which to connect and build bridges of your own. This is your chance to break the cycle of Us vs Them.
Youth PoWR (Parliament of the World’s Religions) gives young people aged 18-35 a voice and a vote in shaping our multicultural, multi-religious society. Following the launch of The Sydney Statement in March last year, we invite you and your fellow peers to join us in a series of events that examines: dialogue of life, action, knowledge and religious experience, featured in The Sydney Statement. You can read The Sydney Statement through the following link: https://www.thesydneystatement.org.au/ .
Share this event with you friends, peers and networks and invite them to be a part of this conversation on how we can better encourage mutual understanding, respect and collaboration amongst people of different faith traditions.
This event will be livestreamed on Zoom. You will receive a Zoom link via email within the week of the event.
