Guidelines for Drag Competition
1. Eligibility and Registration:
- All participants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Registration must be completed by the 15th of May 2025.
- Participants are required to submit a brief biography and a high-resolution photograph for promotional use.
2. Performance Requirements:
- Each performance should be between 3 to 5 minutes long.
- Participants may perform solo or as part of a group, but each act must be registered separately.
- Performances should celebrate diversity, creativity, and inclusivity, embodying the spirit of Pride.
3. Costume and Makeup:
- Costumes must adhere to local decency laws as in no full nudity.
- Creativity and originality in costume and makeup are highly encouraged.
- Participants should be prepared to adjust costumes if they are deemed inappropriate by event organizers.
4. Music and Technical Setup:
- Music tracks should be submitted in advance, in MP3 format, to avoid technical issues.
- Participants must provide a backup copy of their music on a USB drive on the day of the event.
- Any special technical requirements must be communicated to the organizers at least one week before the event.
5. Judging Criteria:
- Participants will be judged on creativity, stage presence, originality, and audience engagement.
- The scoring will be done during Leeton Pride Festival's after-party, a voting time will be allocated after every participant has finished their performances.
- Scores will be combined to determine the winners in various categories, such as Best Walk, Best Performance, and Best Costume.
- An additional 10% will be awarded to contestants who have participated in the Leeton Pride Parade happening earlier that day.
6. Awards and Prizes:
- Prizes will be awarded to winners, with additional prizes for runner-ups.
- All participants will receive a certificate of participation and a gift bag from event sponsors.
7. Code of Conduct:
- Participants are expected to show respect and support to fellow competitors.
- Any form of discrimination, harassment, or hate speech will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification.
- Participants are encouraged to embody the values of Pride, promoting love, acceptance, and unity.
8. Safety and Security:
- The event will have security personnel on-site to ensure the safety of all attendees.
- Participants are advised to secure their belongings and remain aware of their surroundings.
- In case of an emergency, follow the instructions provided by event staff and security.
