Parade Guidelines
1. The parade will start at 12:30 PM from Jarrah Mall, Leeton. Parade participants are required to line up at the starting point before 12:00 AM. Please arrive on time to ensure an orderly start. Parade placement is at the sole discretion of LPF Parade Coordinator. On Parade day, all Entrants must line up in the section to which they have been assigned and must do so at the designated time and location. Each organisation must stay in its section for the duration of the Parade.
2. Please appoint a group marshall, Each entry must provide one designated Group/Float Marshal to act as the official liaison and emergency contact between the entrant group and Leeton Pride Festival committee, Marshalls must check in with our Registration Team in Mountford Park and ensure that their participants and vehicle (if applicable) have arrived at the starting area at the assigned time and remain with their entry at all times.in case of any emergencies or assistance needed during the parade, look out for our volunteers and safety officers who will be stationed throughout the route to assist you.
3. The parade route will proceed along Pine Avenue, head towards the roundabout, and continue to Wade Avenue before concluding at Mountford Park. Familiarize yourself with the route to avoid any confusion on the day. The parade will proceed in all weather conditions.
Please ensure your participants have sufficient sunscreen, water or weather protection that suit the conditions of the day.
4. Any vehicles or floats interested in participating must upload/provide copies of the car's registration details, driver's license, and Compulsory Third Party Insurance Certificate. If you haven't done so yet, kindly email these documents to us at your earliest convenience. Your vehicle must be registered and roadworthy and drivers must be appropriately licensed. Your drivers must not have a blood alcohol level over the legal limit or be under the influence of drugs. Breath testing may occur at start and end areas.
5. Anyone on vehicles must be properly secured either by seatbelt or high railings to prevent falls. Safety is our priority, so please adhere to these requirements.
If you have a flatbed truck and participants standing on the tray, you must either implement railings or barriers to prohibit people from falling off the edges or secure participants to a solid structure with appropriate safety harnesses.Â
No one may enter or exit the vehicle once it is in motion on the Parade route
6. Handouts, You are welcome to give handouts to parade goers but please don't throw the merchandise into the crowd and please dispose of rubbish properly in the allocated bins along the way. Let's work together to keep our town clean and beautiful. Please note that glitter cannons are not to be used and if you are intending on using confetti, it must be bio degradable and water-soluble, and the use of balloons for release is prohibited.Â
7. All audio, lighting, AV equipment or any infrastructure must be secure and in good order and to comply with minimum industry standards. Dress as vibrantly and expressively as you can and join in the festive spirit of the parade. Your unique style and presence will contribute to the joyous atmosphere we aim to create. However please note nudity or vulgarity is prohibited.
8. The maximum length of any vehicle (including towed additions) must not exceed 12.5m. The preferred height is 3.3m with a maximum height of 4.3m. The maximum width is 3.5m and use of dogs and horses in the parade is permitted however they must be restrained by a lead or tethered to the back of a vehicle at all times.Â
9. Stay hydrated throughout the event. Water stations will be available on Jarrah Mall, so please make use of them to avoid dehydration. and any children participating in the parade MUST be supervised by a responsible adult aged over 18.
10. Share your experience on social media using the hashtag #LeetonPrideFestival to connect with other participants and spread the love beyond the parade.
11. Most importantly, have fun, be respectful to others, and celebrate diversity and inclusion with us. Your participation helps make this event a success and showcases the vibrant spirit of our community.
