Legal Design Collab: Using Design Thinking to design business models of the future

Event description

Welcome to our third Legal Design Collab (LDC) for 2024 with host Melissa Lyon, Executive Director & Experience Designer at Hive Legal.

We are continuing to shine a light on use cases for design thinking in your legal business to help you learn how to identify and develop practical and innovative services, processes, initiatives and programs.

In this session we are going BIG and looking at how legal design thinking can help you design a business model of the future. Don’t wait for someone else to do it, you can use design thinking to build a business model that aligns with your purpose, needs and expectations of your teams and your clients today - you can be a ‘Designer Firm’.

Our guests and co-hosts for this session are the fabulous Michael Morrissey, Partner, Speirs Ryan and Helen Mackay, Founder, Juno Legal. Michael and Helen will share their lived experiences of building firms using design thinking mindsets and processes.

Topics we'll cover include:

  • The importance of identifying the purpose of your business
  • Identifying what matters to your clients and your team
  • Working out what the essential elements of your business model should be
  • Using design thinking to build out and sustain those elements, including structures, programs and processes and
  • Lots of practical case studies tips and tricks.

Also don't forget to save-the-date for all the other LDC meet ups in 2024 - you'll find that information here.

The LDC is offered through the Centre for Legal Innovation's Legalpreneurs LabLegal Design Thinkers Special Interest Group (SIG). Membership is FREE and you can join here.

PLEASE NOTE, THIS EVENT WILL BE RECORDED BUT THE RECORDING WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE TO MEMBERS OF THE LEGAL DESIGN THINKERS SIG.
