LEMONS LEMONS LEMONS LEMONS LEMONS – UniSC Theatre Company Production
Event description
UniSC Theatre and Performance presents LEMONS LEMONS LEMONS LEMONS LEMONS by Sam Steiner
Directed by Dr Hannah Banks
By arrangement with Origin Theatrical
You’re going to speak more than 123 million words in your lifetime. But what if there were a limit?
Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons imagines a world where we're forced to say less. It’s follows Bernadette and Oliver's romance as they negotiate a society in which a law is imposed permitting each person to use only 140 words a day. It is an amusing examination of romance, from the couple's meeting in a pet cemetery, to Bernadette's jealousy of Oliver's ex and Oliver's problems with Bernadette's career as a lawyer. As the non-linear narrative unfolds, questions emerge about the importance of language for communication. Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons is about what we say, how we say it, and what happens when we can't say anything anymore.
All performances are free and are in the K1.G.09 Performance Studio on the Sippy Downs campus. It is next to Carpark P6 and the Art Gallery.
