Let Go and Write
Event description
Let Go & Write Workshop :
One of our members Mary Keily is offering to pass on her writing skills in a 2 hour workshop.
Do you want to write a book, short story, blog, or journal, more creatively, or learn a new technique to express yourself?
Mary will teach you a way to write that draws on one’s subconscious through "Freefall". It’s a concept refined by Barbara Turner-Vesselago, a Canadian writer/teacher and author of "Writing without a parachute - the Art of freefall."
‘Barbara helped me tap into a style of writing which has changed mine forever.’
Mary will take you through the five main steps to creating writing you did not know you were capable of.
Mary is a Registered Nurse with thirty five years experience in Emergency, Ward and
Community Nursing.
She has published her first freefall book of short stories based on
her memories as a nurse since the 1970's.
"Slow walk to the phone” as it is titled helped her work through her own trauma.
‘Looking back, all my stories have been shaped by why I was and whom I was.’ says Mary.
A former ABC radio broadcaster, Mary has always been drawn to stories. ‘Ironically, out of tragedy has come something beautiful for me. I can turn my wounds into words... now my words have credence.’
This workshop will be a unique experience. Afternoon tea included in the workshop cost
