Let Me Tell You About Auckland

Let Me Tell You About Auckland is a journal of stories - some true, some not - of the inner city, told by some of the unexpected characters that live there. 

Our hīkoi (journey) starts at the bottom of Myers Park, in the Lower Greys Avenue carpark, next to the new artwork Waimahara, where we will also be accompanied by the constant movement of Te Waihorotiu, flowing unseen beneath our feet. 

Let Me Tell You About Auckland was developed by the award-winning Hobson Street Theatre Company and noted playwright and theatremaker Anders Falstie-Jensen of the Rebel Alliance (The Valentina, Back to Square One) and is their collective response to our ever-changing inner-city environment. 

Please note this performance is a walking tour, starting near the artwork Waimahara at the entrance to Myer's Park, and finishing on Hobson Street. The route is wheelchair accessible, although note there are uphill gradients in places. Please feel free to contact us if you would like more information on the route; we are happy to make adjustments where we can.

This performance will go ahead in all but the most torrential of rain. If any performances are cancelled, the decision to do this will be made three hours beforehand and we will contact all registered audience members then.  

Please come prepared to be outside in June; we suggest wearing layers and bringing rain jackets and umbrellas. You may also like to bring a water bottle with you. Please arrive five minutes before we leave so we can set off on time.
