Let's Electrify West Torrens - Community Forum
Event description
You're invited to a community event about electrification of your home, hosted by the City of West Torrens and delivered by Electrify Adelaide (community group).
Expect a warm, volunteer run evening with light snacks, warm drinks and information sharing. At the end of the evening you will be well informed about electrifying your home.
We have planned the session to be an informative, practical, inclusive and friendly evening. You'll leave knowing more about how to start on your own household electrification journey.
Electrification is the process of phasing out fossil fuels in your home. It could be changing how you heat your water, how you cook, how you move from A to B or how you use energy in your home.
Here’s a bit more about what you can expect on the night.
- Understand what electrification is
- Learn why you might want to electrify
- Discuss common barriers to electrification and how you can work through them
- Planning and resources to help electrify your home
- Discuss what it would look like to electrify our community
- Understand how you can save money
- Warm drinks and light supper (including dumplings) are included in your ticket price
- Not from West Torrens? No worries - surrounding suburbs welcome too!
The main part of the event will be Q&A break out sessions on solar & batteries, EV cars, heating and cooling and hot water and cooking/induction. This is your chance to chat with community gurus, professionals and enthusiasts in this space and ask all those questions you've had about solar, batteries and more.
There will be light food and drinks available (free).
This project is affiliated with a wider Rewiring Australia initiative and comes off the back of a successful Let's Electrify Community Forums in Unley, Uraidla and Seacliff. Read more about the project here: https://www.electrifyadelaide.com/
If you have any questions ahead of the evening please be in touch via electrifyadelaide@gmail.com or Anders Bogdanowicz from West Torrens Council (8416 6333).
Let’s see West Torrens embracing the change to fully electrified homes, with lower lifetime running costs, zero emissions and cleaner air for our residents.
Hope to see you there!
Kinds Regards,
The Electrify Adelaide Team and the City of West Torrens
