Event description

Learn the art of fermentation! In this 3-hour hands-on workshop make your own sauerkraut, kimchi and kombucha! You will learn the ins and outs of fermentation so you can leave with the confidence to replicate it yourself at home. Fermented foods are not only delicious but are so good for your gut flora, providing countless health benefits as well as being a great way of preserving excess food and reducing food waste!

From this workshop you will bring home a jar each of sauerkraut and kimchi as well as a jar of kombucha with your own Scoby (culture) so you can continue making your own at home!

We will also be able to taste some pre-fermented goodies as we go so you'll have an idea of what to expect and what to be excited for!)

The facilitator, Lauren has been fermenting for over 10 years at home as well as running workshops for over 4 years. With a background interest in food security she began saving and preserving foods at home and quickly became intrigued by the health benefits that fermented foods provide. She is now about to finish a course in Naturopathy where she has deepened her understanding of the gut microbiome and all of the ways fermented foods can help us!
