Event description

What are we waiting for?

You can judge a service by how it makes people wait. Unfortunately, people are made to wait in spaces that can be uncomfortable and dehumanising.

Let's reimagine waiting.

Join us for an evening of inspiring talks and facilitated design activities exploring how we might reimagine waiting to be more inclusive, engaging and human.

Speakers

We'll start the night with an introduction and an opportunity to hear from our speakers.
Dr Lena Molnar (she/her) — Research and Evaluation Lead at Women with Disabilities Victoria
Stephen Thorpe (he/him) — Gunnai, Gunditjmara, Yorta Yorta, Palawa man, and Truth Receiver at Yoorrook Justice Commission
Hunter Lee (he/him) — Senior Strategic Designer at Today

What to expect at the event

The activities planned are fun, collaborative and creative. Facilitated by our experienced designers, you'll get to explore ideas around what it would take for waiting to be more inclusive, human and engaging.

  • The event is open to anyone tired of waiting
  • We will be filming and photographing the event
  • Ticket prices are a donation to Running Water Community Press

Care and safety

At Today, we have rigorous care and safety planning in place. This includes trauma-informed care that works from a strength-based model and an intersectional lens.
