Let's Roll Maribyrnong: Girls and Women on Wheels (Maribyrnong Girls Can Week 2026)

Celebrate Maribyrnong Girls Can Week with free, welcoming roller-skating experience for girls and women of all ages and skating abilities. Experienced coaches will guide participants through equipment fitting, safe falling, balance, stopping, forward skating and optional skill activities in small, supportive groups.

No previous skating experience or personal equipment is required. Princess on Skates will provide more than 50 pairs of roller skates in a range of sizes, together with helmets and protective equipment.

The program aims to remove the cost and equipment barriers that can prevent women and girls from trying roller skating. Participants will be encouraged to progress at their own pace, build confidence, enjoy physical activity and connect with others in a fun, non-judgemental environment.

Date: Saturday 31 October 2026

Location: RecWest Braybrook, 39 Lily Street, Braybrook

Time: 10am - 12pm

Audience: Women and young girls

What to bring: Water bottle and skates (if you have some)

Active Maribyrnong programs are provided free of charge to encourage the community to be active and participate in health and wellbeing activities. Participants acknowledge that participation is voluntary and at their own risk and are responsible for ensuring they are fit and able to participate safely. To the extent permitted by law, participants agree to release and indemnify the City of Maribyrnong and the program facilitator from any loss, damage, injury or claim arising from their participation in the program, except where caused by the negligence or unlawful conduct of Council or the facilitator.

If you are no longer able to attend your Maribyrnong Girls Can Week activity, please cancel your registration online.
