Let the Data Speak: Audit, Analyse, Act

In 2022, Gender Equity Victoria (GEN VIC) and Geographic Names Victoria (GNV) surveyed local government about gender equality in geographic place naming and public art. Thirteen local councils participated by auditing their place names and public art. The findings showed that women were vastly underrepresented in these place names and artworks.  

To understand the full extent of the gender gap across the state, we need more data. Without data, progress stalls. This session is about changing that.
