Let's Get Batty
Event description
What? Join us for a fun evening Getting Batty! This event is language inclusive - we will be sharing in Maori and NZSL as well as English. Part of Conservation Week 2025.
First we'll have a Kōrero from local expert Steve Goodin
Learn about Aotearoa’s native Pekapeka species, our local bats and how we can best protect them.
Then we'll Upcycle waste materials to make a 3D pekapeka
Use your newly acquired knowledge and get creative! Make your own pekapeka from materials that we provide, with other bat enthusiasts and artists creating alongside. Once we’ve completed our 3D batty creations we can hang them as a public art display in the trees outside the Arts Village, or you can take them home.
