Let's Talk: Negotiation and Communication
Event description
"Let's Talk", a new workshop focused on one of the most fundamental aspects of BDSM. Let's delve into the many intricate ways we can communicate within our kink space, covering pre and post discussions. What to ask as a newbie, communication when speaking isn't an option and how to take scene criticism.
Are you a hopeful new kinkster looking to start out in the BDSM scene?
Are you perhaps, already in the scene and wanting to learn more about this world?
Or even, an original stalwart, hoping to sharpen some skills, or simply want to offer your experiences to the conversation?
All are welcome to attend
In these workshops, my aim is not just to show you the basics, but start a conversation. To open up a wonderful community that is often hurt by prejudice, misunderstanding and misinformation, regurgitated by pop culture and the media.... and certain books we need not mention the names of.
Let's work together to dispel those misapprehensions, and build on the core of what BDSM is: a safe and consensual means of exploring ourselves and finding bliss.
In this workshop we will be covering topics on:
The importance of a chat
Talking vs Listening
Pre-play briefings
Negotiating play
What to include in conversations
Communication styles
Non-verbal
Play time
Post scene and check ins
Talking desires and boundaries
As well as having some time at the end to practice your new skills
As usual, the class will run for 3 hours with a 15 minute break in the middle. Address of venue will be sent to you in an email upon purchasing of a ticket.
Please note that this is a safe space for all people, not matter their race, gender, sexuality, or level of ability. All are welcome and the class will be free from shame, judgement or negativity. If you cannot show respect to all people in attendance, you will be asked to leave without refund.
While this is not a play session, this is still an 18+ event due to the nature of the workshop and therefore all peoples must be over the age of 18 to be permitted entry.
