Let's Talk Youth Safe Volunteering

For this free online session, we are joined by the Office of the Independent Regulator, and will be discussing:

• An overview of the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement

• An overview of the Tasmanian Child and Youth Safe Standards and the Universal Principle for Aboriginal Cultural Safety

• Practical steps to align these two important frameworks, to help your volunteer organisation support a safer environment for children and young people

• A discussion about the support and resources available

This event is for anyone who works with volunteers - whether you're a volunteer coordinator in a paid or unpaid role, or representing a Volunteer Involving Organisation.

This session is delivered by Volunteering Tasmania's Volunteer Management Activity (VMA). Funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services, the VMA aims to build the capacity of volunteer involving organisations to provide inclusive and accessible volunteering opportunities and break down barriers to volunteering for specified priority groups, including young people.

The Office of the Independent Regulator (OIR) works with Tasmanian organisations so they are safe for children and young people, through compliance with the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Framework.

Volunteering Tasmania Continuous Professional Development (CPD) points: 1 CPD point will be awarded for attending this online session.
