Bringing together their love for classical music and art-song, Blue Stockings and Solstice Guitar Duo, present an afternoon of delicate melodies at 4mbs Performance Studio.

Blue Stockings presents David Leisner's suite for soprano and guitar: Confiding. Leisner puts word to song, with a collection of poems written by some of history's most accomplished women; including Emily Bronte and Emily Dickinson. Solstice Guitar Duo will present a fiery performance with music inclusive of Australian composers: Paul Svoboda, Duncan Gardiner, and Leonard Grigoryan.

Doors open at 1:30pm, with music from 2:00pm.

About the artists:

Blue Stockings is a collaborative project formed in 2020 between vocalist Alison Paris and classical guitarist Chloe Hasson. What began as an outlet to explore classical music without the confines of the concert hall, soon developed its own unique sound at the intersection of folk music, classical-contemporary, and experimental/ambient music. With a focus on outward movement in their creativity, the core foundations of Blue Stockings are built upon collaboration projects with featured artists. Connecting community through accessibility, live performances focus on building a comfortable and interactive atmosphere, with each performance bringing new ideas and diverse sounds.

Solstice Guitar Duo features two dynamic classical guitarists: Clancy Anderson and Dominic Ward. Having studied at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music under the tutelage of world-renowned classical guitarist Karin Schaupp, Solstice brings a passionate and lively energy to the world of guitar performance. From beautiful ballads to fiery Spanish songs, from flashy Irish jigs to profound classical art music, Solstice is sure to perform the widest range of music at the highest level.
