Event description

Leveraging Volunteering to Enhance the Student Experience

Join us for a network session showcasing case studies on how Communiteer has collaborated to facilitate meaningful student volunteering experience.

Volunteering delivers vital community, curricular, engagement and graduate attribute outcomes, especially for international students as they settle into study in Australia.

Communiteer has a mission to connect, engage and mobilise volunteers to participate in their communities. This session will present case studies of how Communiteer has collaborated across Government, Corporate and Education Sectors to facilitate meaningful volunteering experiences.

Including, the delivery of Study NSW’s International Student Volunteering Program and the development of their Department of Social Services funded ‘National Youth Initiative.’ Coordinating successful programs requires clear timelines, well-articulated points of benefit for all stakeholders, and a joint vision for what these programs can achieve.

As a result, students were able to engage with the community in a way that enhanced their social skills, increased their awareness of social issues and added to their employability. Come along to unpack the challenges and solutions to cross-sector collaboration, and discover the potential of volunteering to enhance the student experience.
