The Dirt Road Orchestra are five wonderfully multi-faceted musicians, sometimes masquerading as The Auckland Ceilidh/Ceili Band.
Bringing to life the mesmerising songs of Andy Hamilton, their music travels through love, history and social commentary — with the occasional song that’s just plain daft. Think alt-folk with a dash of Americana and Celtic influence, delivered with wit, pathos, laughter laced with a splash of dazzling musicianship.
No bass solos though. (That’s an in joke…)
And the timing couldn’t be better — their new album Drifty Man lands on all major streaming platforms on 23rd October, the day before the show.
Two acts, one wonderfully intimate venue, and a night of live music we’ve been looking forward to for a long time.
