Join us for a community workshop delivered by Dr. Gemma Mann, on better understanding LGBTQIA+ foundations of inclusion.
This is a safe opportunity to learn.
All members of community welcome, including students, professionals, volunteers, sporting groups etc.
Gemma Mann is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Access Education and has a passion for inclusive education. After 5 years as the Coordinator, First Year Experience in the Student Support Centre, in 2014 Gemma became a full time academic. She advocates for inclusive education across her various roles. This includes being Access Coordinator (campus coordinator) within CQUniversity's Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies Course (STEPS), and Unit Coordinator and lecturer across mathematics and physics units. She is also the Coordinator and trainer for the CQUniversity Ally Program for LGBTIQ+ inclusion, education and research. Gemma is a member of the Centre of Research in Equity and Advancement of Teaching and Education (CREATE).
This event is part of Livingstone Shire Council's 2024 - "Mental Health Matters", celebrating Queensland Mental Health Week.
Queensland Mental Health Week is an annual awareness week that aims to shine a spotlight on individual and community mental health and wellbeing.
Through local community events, we hope that conversations about mental health and wellbeing will be ignited in our community.
