Event description

Brimbank Youth Services are delivering an LGBTQIA+ SafeTALK session.
Which is a 4 hour suicide alertness workshop, that helps community members build the skills to recognise and respond to signs of suicide. This workshop is being offered to parents and community members.

Participants will:

  • Learn to spot signs that someone may be thinking about suicide.

  • Feel more confident to talk about suicide directly.

  • Understand and challenge common myths about suicide.

  • Learn and practice the TALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen, and KeepSafe.

  • Know how to connect someone with the right help.

Eligibility: Participants must be over the age of 15 and must live, work, study or play within Brimbank City Council and identify as LGBTQIA+ or an ally.

Refreshments and training manuals will be provided by Brimbank Youth Services.
