Liam Conor & Co - A Jazz Exploration: Vol. 15

3 years ago, a project was formed to honour the collaborations of Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald and the balance and interaction between horn and vocals. As time passed and the bands sound scape evolved, Liam Conor & Co’s individual style has now come to incorporate original compositions and arrangements with feel good standards. Built within an eclectic fusion of Swing, Soul, Latin, Afro Cuban and Blues.

Fronting the band is leader / founder and Trumpet player, Liam Conor. A graduate of JMI, he has been performing professionally for the past 6 years, performing in variety of projects ranging from Funk, Blues, Rock, Soul to Jazz Thrash Metal. Also fronting the band is powerhouse vocalist Mariana Verna (Vocals) who has become one of the most sought after jazz vocalists within Brisbane, along with Liv Marlton (Alto Sax), a multi instrumentalist extraordinaire who has been making waves within the Meanjin music scene.

Backing the band are fellow JMI alumni Tom Kakanis (guitar), Casey Glennen (Bass), and Katie Randall (Drums). All three are at the forefront of the local music scene, with Tom being an outstanding band leader and composer in his own right, to Katie and Casey being the most desirable rhythm section in Brisbane.
