Library After Dark - Spoken Word collides with music and dance

This event has passed Register

Event description

Newcastle Libraries and Newcastle Art Gallery presents Library After Dark: an eclectic series of evening pop up bars, and events that will keep you entertained and enthralled!

This is an 18+ event.
Complimentary drink for each valid ticket holder.

Registrations essential. Please do not attend this event if you are unwell. As spaces are limited, please cancel if you can no longer attend.

Join us for a celebration of the spoken word as it collides with music in a heady mix of soaring piano, freestyle dance and hip hop, powerful slam poetry, raucous saxophone and punchy guitar.

These ancient storytelling forms have the ability to express the personal, the universal and bring people together. Hosted by Dawn Laird and presenting hot new talent alongside established performers, this event blurs the boundaries between poetry and musical lyricism.

Set times:
5.30pm - Spark (Georgie Winchester, Angus Sharpe)
6pm - The Majishans
6.45pm - Sara Crane
7pm- Steven Shadow
7.15pm - Dawn Laird
7.30pm The Majishans
