Lichens Talk & Walk - 2026

Join Anna Voytsekhovich PhD, Botanist, Ecologist for a presentation about the different life forms of lichens, their morphology, ecology, and physiology.

Anna and the Bushland team will identify lichens growing in the area, explain their role in soil formation and soil erosion control, plant decomposition, food chain, air quality identification, geoformation, and lichenometry.

Mosses, that sometimes grow alongside lichens, will be discussed to a lesser extent.

Please wear sturdy enclosed shoes with good grip and sun protection including a hat and sunscreen.

Toilets located at The Coal Loader and in Balls Head Reserve.
