Event description

Ages 18+ | 6PM to 9PM every second Wednesday

Begins July 20th and continues for 12 weeks (6 Classes)

Life Drawing

Life Drawing is an essential component of visual arts training. Drawing a live model gives us training in recognizing and expressing form, gesture, anatomy and more. Each class begins with very short poses and ends with a very long pose, training students in working quick and loose, as well as working slowly and methodically. Each lesson features a specific technique, exercise and/or anatomical information, which is reinforced by individual feedback. This personalised feedback from artists with expertise is the backbone of visual arts training.

Winter Term

Following on from our Autumn Term, which focused on an observational approach, Winter Term will focus on an anatomical approach to life drawing. This means each class will feature a discussion on different bones and muscles of the human body; their functions; and ways to memorise and utilise this information in your art. Skeletal and anatomical models will be used, as well as examples of anatomy in the paintings and drawings of old masters. Students will find the construction and function of their own bodies endlessly fascinating.

Campgrounds Cafe Showcase

At the end of the term, students will have the opportunity to showcase some of their best work at a mini exhibition at Campgrounds Cafe.

Who is this for?

Led by trained professionals with an abundance of experience and expertise, these classes are useful for any artist, be they total beginner or working professional. Different styles and interests are catered for, with a focus on learning the universal visual language of the world around us, which can have infinite applications in artistic expression. We at TAA strongly believe that not only is creating art enjoyable, the act of learning, and improving our understanding of the world around us is excellent for one's mental health and spirituality.
