Event description

 THE COURSE:

Perhaps you want to write about your life, or someone else's, but feel unsure about where to begin?

What to include? What to leave out? Can I really write about THAT?

And how well or how much do I remember?

This course is a mixture of analysis, group discussion, tips, writing exercises, and ways of working with memory, exploring style, technique, chronology, focus and pace. In Pearlie's words - a sense of humour is the only prerequisite.

If you would like to join us by Zoom, this may be possible, please contact Margot at margoli2000@yahoo.com.au.

THE TUTOR:

Pearlie McNeill is a published writer and an experienced editor and teacher who has written her own autobiographical trilogy.

Pearlie has been widely published since 1979 when her radio play was broadcast on the ABC. She won The Wirra Wirra-Wakefield Press Award at the 1998 Adelaide Writers’ Festival, for her autobiographically based Counting the Rivers. In 1982 Pearlie began teaching Creative Writing classes in England, and she has since taught in universities, polytechs and various venues in Europe. She returned to Australia in 1994 where she achieved an MCA (Master of Creative Arts) and a DCA (Doctor of Creative Arts) from Wollongong University.
