Leonie Cohen + Zoe Ortiz- Duo

Jazz pianist Leonie Cohen and multidisciplinary artist Zoe Ortiz met last year at a show curated by legendary light artist Roger Foley Fogg where they were independently improvising with music and light. This new collaboration brings them together in a shared improvisation — Cohen creating spontaneous musical landscapes at the piano while Ortiz responds in real time with live analogue imagery using an overhead projector, water, ink, coloured oils and translucent materials.

Light and water have long been recurring themes in Cohen’s music, providing a natural counterpart to Ortiz’s mesmerising liquid-light projections. Together they create an immersive dialogue of sound, movement and image.

Paul Cutlan + Abby Constable - Duo

Light is often invoked as a metaphor for spiritual energy, transformation and self-realisation. Few tapped this potential with the intensity of John Coltrane, particularly in his groundbreaking collaborations with drummer Rashied Ali.

Drawing inspiration from that legacy, multi-reed player Paul Cutlan and powerhouse drummer Abby Constable present a set of deeply intuitive and exploratory music. Their performance reaches for the same cathartic and transcendent heights, embracing jazz as a force for connection, healing and renewal.
